After a lot of grinding/sanding of the interior tire rims to fit the 6" nylon split rims. I finally took the assemblies to a local tire shop to get the tubes into the tires and split rims. It was worth the $20 to have them done as I spent 4 hours trying myself and only managed to hole one of the tubes.
The build manual says if using the 6" nylon wheel assemblies, to trim 5/8" off the legs of the rotor mounts/stand-offs. An alternate method is to add a 5/8" sleeve/spacer on the axle rod between the inside bearing and the gear leg. As I had some scrap 5/8" id aluminum tube, I used this method. It makes the gear tread slightly wider which I hope will aid in ground stability.

I also finished a primary coat of thinned marine spar varnish on both wings.
Still working on the PVC "rotisserie". Unable to find a 1.25""-1" PVC bushing to fit at the local bib -box store.
We are in the process of testing a new email notification system. Our forum email service has been down for some time. This system allows you to send messages to other forum members, sends an email when a post you're following changes, and other notices that are sent via email. Hopefully this new system will continue to work properly. So if you're interested in a particular post, you can now follow it and be notified when it changes or a new message is posted. That's rather nice, instead of having to check every few days to see if something new has been added. There is also another upgrade to the forum version. Only minor changes, but it's always best to get these changes made. We'll get to that as soon as possible. You can hide this announcement now that you've read it by clicking on the little "X" in the upper right corner of the announcement window. Thanks for being a member. We appreciate your participation.
